Updated My Teddy Photos

Check out my new Teddies, including the four amazing pigs that I just bought from Katie Carter of Bandirose while in Maine. Thanks so much, Katie, for these great pigs. They've all settled in great, and the boys are in pig heaven with the sows.

Next I'm going to post the latest baby pictures and a list of pigs for sale.
Then I want to update my Cavy Breeder directory. Please drop me a line to be included, especially if you are located in the Mid-Atlantic — from New York to Virginia and East to Ohio — but I'm happy to include anyone who raises quality cavies. New Pigs From Maine

We just got back yesterday from a week in Maine, visiting family. While we were there, I drove up to Bangor to visit with Katie Carter of Bandirose Cavies. I brought home three incredible boars and a fabulous sow. Bandirose pigs are awesome, and I am just thrilled to be adding these pigs to my lines.

The new pigs are Mullraney: a DEW senior boar. He is going in with my younger cream sows.
Mackinnon, a self red satin carrier. Mac is a Sweet Wheekers pig, about 2 1/2 years old and still eager to get with the ladies. I pulled my lovely satin broken boar who hasn't produced a thing for me ever and replaced him with Mackinnon, who was in piggy heaven with three sows.

The last boar is a Golden Agouti and Red roan boar with just about everything going for him, big shoulders, lovely coat, cute little nose. He is in with the Bandirose sow, Rosario, a DEW. According to Katie, the last time she bred this pair, she did get a cream so I am hoping to reproduce her results.

Babies !!!

I'm going to try to get baby pictures up every Friday. 'Cuz let's face it, we all like looking at babies. At least that's my theory. If site traffic goes up on Fridays then I'm right. So here are the latest babies including a litter from yesterday and one from this morning. Please don't hold me to anything about for sale/not for sale at this point because it's all just a guess on my part. The red teddy boars, especially, I can't tell apart and won't be able to to until they are ear tagged.

New Abyssinians

I have added pictures of some of my new abyssinians and abyssinian satins to my Abyssinian photo album. I'll keep adding pictures there until I get all my abbies up. Enjoy! And unless it says otherwise, these are not for sale. But if you see something you absolutely love, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

New Teddies in Roan and Broken

I am making some changes here. I am cutting back on my dark satins. I'll still do them, but I want to try something new. I am also going to start working more with standard teddies. Their coats are just so much better. My standard teddies will now include Golden Agouti, Broken, Red and Roan in addition to the creams. I have also recently obtained some very nice new satin teddies with excellent type and fabulous coats. But more on them another time. You can see some of the new teddies in my Teddy photo album or here.

New Babies

We've had a few litters here in the last week or so. Pictures here. Some of these little guys will be available after they're weaned and some will be staying here.

Coming and going.

Yesterday I drove out toward Pittsburgh to meet with Laura Shwallon of QT Cavies. She now has my nicest baby cream teddy sow.

And I have a lovely senior teddy boar. He is Linny, aka Movie Times' Karrot Top. He went right into a nice clean pen with two young sows, a golden agouti and a solid golden. Both are satin carriers from Garber's Bruce (satin solid golden). Linny has a nice coat and he is also the sire of two my other breeders: Quirk, a pink-eyed buff boar; and Lupine, a lilac roan sow.

And today Noisette, a red abyssinian sow, had a litter of two by Whitney, a tri roan boar. The babies are a red self boar and a satin brindle sow. The little sow is mostly black, but from the small bits of red, it's clear she's a satin.

And now for pictures. Everyone just wants to see pictures. Well no pictures for know because my three-year-old has hidden the camera somewhere. Last week he hid Daddy's keys in the piano. So your guess is as good as mine where the camera might be. It's not in the piano. I already checked.

Buying, selling, and swapping pigs

Most of my pigs for sale have been sold or, at least, reserved. There are a very nice pair of show-quality texel boars left, and a pair teddies: a solid silver satin boar and a solid golden satin-carrier sow. I may have an additional cream boar available in time to deliver to the Midnight Madness show. Please email me if you are interested.

I've had inquiries from as far away as Oregon Sorry, I don't ship, and Ontario Two abbies and a teddy. Thanks. By the way, if any one in or near Portland, OR, has a roan long-hair sow to sell, I have a buyer for you. Does not have to be show quality.

Tomorrow I am expecting a very excited young woman from Ohio, who is driving here to pick up her new baby abby. This little pig never even made it up on the site. So here is her chance. She is so pretty. Not showable because of the roaning on the TSW, but she is still pretty and very sweet tempered, especially for an abby.

And during all of this selling, I've acquired two more teddy boars. I don't actually have them yet, but we're working on it. Linny, aka Movietime's Karrot Top, a red boar, from Q.T. Cavies is coming here. Thanks Laura. And Carrie of Mon-TravCavies is giving me her Frosty, an awesome platinum agouti roan boar. Laura is getting a cream teddy sow from me, while Carrie is taking a saffron boar. Please check out my links to their sites. They have some fabulous animals.

My question is how did this happen. I sold several boar and was really excited about those empty cages. But they're already booked up. Nature abhors a vacuum.

Announcing Cream Abyssinians

Yesterday morning Daffodil, a cream and white aby sow delivered two pups. One is a lovely cream boar the other is a very nice dark cream/buff sow. This little sow can be bred to a white aby boar to produce nothing but creams. The little boar can be bred to a white sow to produce white and cream. Both babies will be staying here. So now I am looking for white abbies.
